Step-By-Step Process to Apply Silica Sand
Surface Preparation
Ensure the surface is clean and dry before applying coatings. Assure the old coatings, including the acrylic resurfacer or cushion coat, have dried completely.
Mixing and Application
Add silica sand to the color and cushion using the ratio indicated by the manufacturer. Use a soft rubber or roller and apply the sand-infused coating into multiple thin layers for an even texture.
Drying
Allow complete drying of the first coat (thus about four to six hours) before applying a second coat.
Final Surface Inspection
Leave the final coat for 24 hours and then mark lines and game action on the court.
